Team Hamble Champions with Protis!

The 2019 edition of the Quarter Ton Cup has been won by Team Hamble sailing Protis.

With two second places on Day 3, their victory was emphatic with a 17.5 point margin ahead of second placed Bullet, sailed by Louise Morton and her all female crew.  Last year’s winner, Sam Laidlaw, was in third place sailing his recently aquired BLT.

Quarter Ton Cup 2019

The 2019 edition of the Quarter Ton Cup will be held in the central Solent from Monday 10 June to Wednesday 12 June, using windward-leeward courses. A large entry is expected with extremely close racing, as is the norm for this class.

The Quarter Ton Class is again the sole organising authority, utilising its affiliation with the RYA.  The shoreside venue will be Cowes Yacht Haven.

Boats will be berthed in Cowes Yacht Haven with onshore activities held in the Cowes Yacht Haven Event Centre.  The race office is to be sited in the Solent Room.

After 8 years of managing our racing Robert Lamb has decided to hang up his compass and will not be with us this year.  In his place will be International Race Officer Stuart Childerley.

There will be a skippers briefing at the upstairs bar on Sunday 9 June at 1830.  There will be an open bar to follow.
